I can’t believe summer is right around the corner! I wanted to pop in today and share with you what has been happening around Kingsbury Brook Farm this spring.
We welcomed 6 Khaki Campbell ducklings and 5 Silkie Bantam chickens to our farmstead. They are living in separate quarters in the same coop and are interacting with each other. Our sheep are still wearing their winter coat. They will be sheared next week and their little shack will get a makeover this summer. More on that soon…Our Maremma sheep dog is trying to stay cool and away from the bugs.I have been spending most of my time in the garden weeding, dividing perennials, and planting our vegetable garden. Spring is definitely my favorite season in the garden with so many beautiful shades of purple and pink. The lilacs and alliums are coming to an end but the irises and lupines are at their peak. The peonies and delphiniums are about to bloom and I will share more pictures with you in the next few weeks.I hope you enjoyed this little tour of our farmstead and I will be back next week with some pictures of our vegetable garden.
Greetings from Kingsbury Brook Farm!
