Five years ago today, I was given the most amazing blessing, a beautiful and healthy boy. We will be celebrating our son’s 5th birthday all day with ghost french toasts, ghost balloons, ghost cupcakes and a ghost piñata. Yes, our son is into ghosts! He has been watching the Ghostbusters movies and he is now chasing ghosts all day, every day:)
Our son’s bedroom is in desperate need of a makeover and I am excited to tackle this project this month. I hope you won’t mind me bouncing around with some living room updates and kitchen projects along with this room’s makeover. One thing I have to work with in my son’s new bedroom are some carpet tiles we installed a few years ago. We can’t afford new flooring right now so I decided to design his big boy bedroom around these carpet tiles.
Before I got pregnant, I picked those carpet tiles for our gym room and at the time, they look perfect and they matched the colors of our gym equipment. I even painted the walls grey with a blinding red accent wall:) Fast forward a few years and I am now pulling my hair out like I did in the 80’s after getting the worse perm ever! But who you gonna call? Sorry I think I have been listening to the Ghostbusters song a few too many times in the past month:) Paint is an easy fix but flooring, not so much! I envisioned a vintage farm/schoolhouse inspired bedroom and I am determined to make it work with the more modern carpet tiles.
Here is the inspiration board I put together for my son’s new bedroom.
We are painting the walls white this week and I can’t wait to show you some updates throughout the month. What do you think of the inspiration board? Any ideas or suggestions? I would love to hear.
