We have been working on our living room for the past few weeks and I wanted to show you a sneak peek of the new space. We started tackling a living room makeover after I contacted Marian Parsons, a.k.a. Miss Mustard Seed, asking for help with our great room. She wrote a post about our living room right before Christmas and another one about our kitchen last week. You can read the two posts here and here. Marian definitely got my wheels going and my creative juices flowing.

This is a before picture of the cupboardThis little area now embodies the new direction for the space with lots of white, wood, greenery, and farmhouse goodies:)I painted the outside of the cupboard with milk paint. I used Miss Mustard Seed ‘Farmhouse White’. I was really hoping for some great chipping and crazing and boy was I not disappointed!
I left the inside of the cupboard unpainted and I love the contrast between the white ironstone and the dark wood. I also painted a stool the same color as the cupboard and tucked an asparagus fern plant in an antique coal bucket.I love this little area and I am thrilled with how the whole room is coming together. We still have about 1,049 projects on our list but it feels good to have a living room that I am really in love with. I will be back soon with some new furniture we got for the space.
