I am back today with some fall touches in our farmhouse kitchen and a couple changes we recently made in the room; a church pew and a barn light.
After transforming our dining table into a rustic farmhouse plank table, I decided to hunt for a bench to add more seating to our eat-in kitchen and to complement our 4 black Windsor chairs. I searched Craigslist and I fell in love with this church pew that came from a priest’s house.
The ‘orangey’ shade of the wood was not exactly what I was looking for but after two coats of Benjamin Moore ‘Chantilly Lace’, it is just what I envisioned!I am still in love with our old glass lantern chandelier but it had a more formal look and felt very disjointed from the rest of our farmhouse kitchen. I chose a white barn light and I love how it instantly transformed the room. I did a roundup [HERE] of the best barn lights I found on Amazon for under $70 if you are in the market for a new light fixture.
I started adding fall touches throughout our home and this year, I am going with a palette of warm colors. I usually decorate with blues and greens and I was pleasantly surprised to see how well warmer colors work in our kitchen. As usual, most of my seasonal decor is either edible, utilitarian, or foraged from our land.
I will be back this Thursday with a bee inspired fall tablescape.
Greetings from Kingsbury Brook Farm!
